Peacocks have appeared throughout Kerry Darlington’s career and hold a special place in her heart, long associated with beauty and good fortune. Here, two peacocks face one another beneath a glowing moon, their balance and symmetry reflecting harmony, union and shared energy. The prevailing sentiment of the piece is captured in the words "Love is Alchemy” by American author Marie Lu.
Inspired by Art Nouveau and Kerry’s admiration for Klimt’s rich metallics and mosaic-like patterning, the artwork is layered with jewel-toned colour, flowing forms and intricate detail. This limited-edition mixed-media artwork on board features unique 3D embellishments and is finished with high-gloss resin, enhancing depth, luminosity, and visual impact.
