Kerry Darlington's ‘My Best Friend’ is a tender meditation on companionship, a quiet, enduring love captured in a shared moment beneath the moon. Drawing on the artist’s love of storytelling and childhood narratives, the piece is inspired by 'Guess How Much I Love You' by Sam McBratney, echoing the simple, heartfelt words “I love you to the moon… and back.” Two young figures sit entwined beneath silvered trees and a luminous moon, while a rich, warm palette of earthy browns, soft creams and gentle metallic highlights wraps the scene in comfort and heart-warming nostalgia.
Presented as a limited-edition mixed media artwork on fine art paper, each piece is hand-embellished with silver leaf and finished with a satin matte varnish, bringing subtle texture and a softly luminous finish to every edition.
